How this series was made

As a child, I was captivated by the intricate structures found in flowers and leaves—the way the veins of a leaf intertwine, how the stamens and the colors of petals blend seamlessly. It's truly mesmerizing!

In 2021, I began collaborating with professional ballet dancers, capturing their grace in black and white. I realized I wanted to incorporate the vibrant and meaningful colors of flowers as a backdrop for my new art series: Botanical Ballet.

This series explores profound themes intertwined with the aesthetic poses of the ballet dancers—an essential combination for my art.

While many today discuss 'sustainability,' I embrace and celebrate the transience that is so palpable when surrounded by flowers. Eternal life would diminish the beauty of things that have such fleeting existences.

This floral series is a tribute to the seasons, nature, and the elegance and strength of the human body. For this series, I exclusively use a Hasselblad camera to achieve the finest sharpness and colors. All the flowers you see are real—sometimes up to 5,000 flowers for a single dress!
